A B&B log home specializing in "Pampering Perfected”. If the words romance, remote, elopement, wedding, honeymoon,
renewal of vows, relax, Appalachian Mountains, and award winning Winery best describe the vacation experience you're looking for, then our Mountain B&B is a great choice.
it’s time to grab your sweetheart and book a romantic getaway in the Tennessee “high country”. Once you are in the Inn, you'll notice that romance & relaxation are the hallmarks of all 4 of our rooms - each having a specific theme.
Sleeping arrangement: Appalachian Spring Room (private balcony), Equestrian Room, Green Room (private balcony), Family Memories Room (private balcony). Each room has en suite tiled bath (2 of them also have a steam shower) plus a Powder Room on the main floor.
The Great Room and open decks encourage relaxation, good conversation and enjoying "Mountain Time". Hiking trails around the property and one to the AT.
Meals are served outside in nice weather, near the wood burning fireplace in winter and large groups gather round the dining room table to share their activities.
This mountain getaway is near Watauga Lake. Our 2,600’ location is just below the ridge of Iron Mountain too. It’s not just us who thinks this place is special; we were chosen the “Best Lodging in Johnson County, TN” for 2016 by the readers of The Tomahawk. Also, voted #1 ‘Most Perfect Place to Stay’ by guests in Arrington’s Inn Traveler Magazine.
Our famous Iron Mountain Inn chocolate chip cookies can be found in the bottomless cookie jar. The B&B extra amenities are impressive: Full hot breakfast from assorted juices to poached pears, whirlpool tubs, Mountain view from every window & balcony, cozy terry robes, and more.
Being in the Tri-State area of Southwest Virginia, Northeast Tennessee and Northwest North Carolina; the adventure list is long. Since you book directly with us, we can help point your “Southern Appalachian Mountain explorers-compass” in the direction that you want. Hike our section of the Appalachian Trail (which runs over 2100 miles from Georgia to Maine), or in the Cherokee National Forest. Need something faster-paced? Do some motorcycle riding, mountain biking, boating, ATV Riding and more.
We can suggest places for waterskiing, golfing, whitewater rafting, swimming & cliff jumping, and waterfalls to explore. Let us know what type of outdoor fun your group enjoys.
Nearby towns and regions are full of shopping and historic treasures: The Butler Museum tells the history of Watauga Lake; drive through the world’s shortest tunnel, Backbone Rock; see the Blue Ridge Mountains or head to the race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Iron Mountain Inn opened its doors to guests in May 1998. Now, almost 20 years since I first visited the area, we have made many friends and are looking forward to sharing the magic of the mountains with you.
I designed and had built the Inn which meant I could add little touches I like to the rooms. Such as, the light over the shower is at the end of the tub since I like to read in the tub. The decks surrounding the Inn are wide since I like to have lots of space between chairs. And the kitchen is the hub of the Inn, come enjoy chatting while I prepare your breakfast...but don't ask for the chocolate chip cookie receipe...it's going to my granddaughter on my deathbed! Just enjoy them from the bottomless cookie jar.
