Calling all families! Get ready to kick back, do some sight-seeing, and enjoy the fresh air & beauty of Lookout Mountain. Our Old Hickory Cottage has also hosted girl-friend get-aways, hikers, church groups, reunion groups. Old Hickory is one of 5 cottages at Cottages in the Clouds, so if you have a larger group (wedding groups or ball teams) - we have private cottages ready to go.
Old Hickory Cottage is open concept; the living, dining and kitchen are in one room. For those occasional cool days, you can keep spirits warm next to the gas log fireplace. Grab your morning coffee and step onto the porch and take a seat on one of the rocking chairs - now you’re living like a local!
Sleeping arrangement: 1 bedroom downstairs has a queen bed. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, one queen and one king. 2 full bathrooms.
Though our location is just across the boarder in GA, cabin time around here includes exploring the scenic beauty of Chattanooga, TN. We are that close! You can even take a short drive to northeast Alabama. The Old Hickory Cottage at Cottages In the Clouds has a well-equipped kitchen and grill on the deck, but you can also dine out in TN, GA and AL in one day. Local restaurants are just 5 miles from the cottage. The music downtown is uniquely Chattanooga!
Chattanooga, TN is well-known for seasonal fairs and festivals, a mix of restaurants, and the quiet serenity of Lookout Mountain. All ages will find something to do at the cottages and nearby. Hiking trails, Cloudland Canyon State Park, Rock City, tour the Ruby Falls 1,120 feet below the surface of Lookout Mountain! Ride a railcar up the side of Lookout Mountain at the Incline Railway, and watch hang gliders soar at Lookout Mountain Flight Park - popular tourist destinations.
Since you book directly with us (Susie and Stan, owners) you can tap into our local knowledge and discover Chattanooga area events that meet your group needs. Did you know Outdoor Magazine named Chattanooga “the best town ever”. Lookout Mountain’s Point Park overlooks a Civil War battlefield, sections of the Tennessee River, Chattanooga, TN and more. Feel the thrill of zip lining a side of a mountain, or head to the Tennessee (fresh and saltwater) Aquarium. Fuel up along the way at a restaurant on the mountain!

We spent two nights at this beautiful cottage in the woods where only birds chirping can be heard in the night. This is a very cosy place - found everything we wanted for the two nights. More than all clean linen and comfortable bedding. Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful home. Carmen Perera
We loved our visit here! The location is perfect for a great get-away, but it's close enough to get to Chattanooga activities. We would highly recommend it! Margaret Horsley
this was my family's cottage when we stayed a couple years ago... it was just amazing and we had a wonderful experience! Pamela Berry
