Your private on-the-lake deck is perfect for watching the stars at night or wildlife all day. Comfortable rockers and a swing on your own covered porch allow you to relax in the fresh mountain air. Things To Do

The Whippoorwill Hideaway is located just 10 miles north of I-40 between Nashville and Knoxville within short diving distances to nine state parks including Burgess Falls, Fall Creek Falls, Big South Fork, Pickett, and Cumberland. Find your favorite waterfall hike!

Relax in your own peaceful oasis and fish for catfish, bass or bluegill in your private pond, or simply read a good book on the covered deck.

Visit the Amish-Mennonite Muddy Pond community to try the breads, cakes, and cinnamon rolls at the Country Porch bakery. The Country Porch also serves delicious sandwiches on homemade breads, and soup during the fall and winter months. Their "in house" chicken salad is locally famous, and a pulled pork or grilled chicken sandwich is amazing! They also offer homemade potato and macaroni and garden side salads. Top your meal off with a freshly baked dessert, and you've just had an experience worth driving a distance for.
The General Store features quits, crafts, handmade toys and wooden furniture, and natural foods. Next door is a leather shop with pelts, belts, purses, tack, saddles, and custom-made gun holsters. Visit during the fall and see horse-drawn sorghum presses at work.

Just a 30 minute drive away in Cookeville, TN, you’ll find four art galleries to visit, 100+ dining options, and the Cookeville Performing Arts Center. Also 30 min. away in Crossville is the Cumberland County Playhouse, and several famous golf courses.

The Upper Cumberland has so many beautiful waterfalls and State parks to visit, if you come during warmer weather! Come and enjoy a short get a way, or make this your vacation and explore the surrounding area.

Bring your boat or rent one at a full-service marina on Dale Hollow Lake and fish in crystal clear water for smallmouth bass. Dale Hollow Lake has 620 miles of undeveloped shoreline, making it one of the cleanest lakes in the United States.

Take a short drive to Monterey, TN and visit the Monterey Depot Museum where you’ll learn not just about trains, but also about the people who have lived in the Upper Cumberland Mountains.

Tennessee is alive with history and beauty. See you soon!

We just got back from two days at the cabin. It was so relaxing. It is a cute, clean cabin among beautiful
woods with a lovely pond just steps away. The people in the community are friendly. Lovely countryside. If you want to just get away from the city and remember what it means to really relax, this is the place to go. Nashville, TN
This is the most amazing place for relaxation that I have ever been. My husband and I have been coming here for about 3 years for a long weekend getaway and always are sad to leave. We look forward to our next trip as soon as we leave. Our family has also come and stayed in the other cabins and we have a great time together. I highly recommend these cabins. The land and lakes are so relaxing and welcoming. The cabins are top notch with every amenity you could want. The Horst's are fabulous to rent from and they keep everything so clean and beautiful. There is nothing about these rentals that I would change if I could. Sharon B.
This is our third consecutive year spending time at Muddy Pond cabins and we will continue to book at least one weekend each year here. Michelle G.
