Perched on a secluded peninsula in Lone Mountain Shore. Welcome to The Bird House! Inside you will notice the hardwood flooring, massive windows, open living room and an updated kitchen. The kitchen comes stocked with full size appliances and a coffee cabinet. Unique decor throughout the cottage. The dining area seats six with additional seating on the wrap around covered deck. Also take advantage of the gas grill and outdoor dining area. Relax on the Adirondack chairs and take in the views of the mountains and lake. The Bird House comes with free Wi-Fi, Netflix and Dish Network.
The Bird House has three bedrooms (2 queen size beds, one daybed with trundle). The large master bedroom has a queen bed and private bath. The second bedroom has a beautiful canopy bed and close to a full bathroom with claw foot tub. The main floor has another bedroom with day bed and trundle.
The Bird House is surrounded by Norris Lake and the Tennessee River. Get ready to catch trophy Black Bass, Striped Bass, Sunfish, Crappie and Walleye. Plenty of secluded coves and protected shorelines along Norris Lake. Whether you are a professional angler or looking for a fun time fishing with the family, Norris Lake is the place to be.
The Norris Landing Marina nearby offers pontoon, fishing boat and Sea Doo rentals. Launch your boat from their dock. Also check out the Beach Island Marina. Guests love to spend the 4th of July here because of the fireworks display hosted by several marinas on Norris Lake. The Bubba Brews Sports Pub and Grill is home to the The Beach Island Marina. Other marinas nearby include Blue Springs Boat Dock, Cedar Grove Maria (SUPS) and the Hickory Star Marina.
Plenty of adventures here in Norris Lake. Check out the Climbworks in the Smoky Mountains with zipline courses. There are also 3 Sky Bridges, ATV rides, and unique mountain biking courses. Experience a tree based adventure at Navitat in Knoxville, TN.
Looking for swimming and sandy beaches? The sandy beach alongside Big Ridge Lake provides swimming enjoyment for all ages. The park also includes sand volleyball, tennis courts, horseshoe pits, basketball court and softball field (Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day). Hiking in the Norris Lake area includes 15 miles at Big Ridge State Park. Easy trail: Fisherman’s Trail. Moderate trail: Chestnut Ridge. Difficult trail: Royston Overlook. During your hiking adventure, keep your eyes open for migratory birds in the spring and fall. Spectacular and vibrant fall colors and boats tours around Norris Lake from September into November.

Local's Tip: Cumberland Gap is a mountain pass that goes through the Cumberland Mountains. The Cumberland Gap was a strategic passage way and previously used by native Americans as a wilderness passage. Today it’s part of the Cumberland Gap National Historic Park. Pinnacle Overlook is the most popular location in the park. The overlook has an elevation of 2,440 feet so you can see the Appalachian Mountains as well as standing on three state lines at the same time! Excellent day trip with your friends and family.
