Outter Cover is settled into a wooded lot out on the main channel of Douglas Lake near Gator Point Marina. This three-story, upscale log cabin combines rustic décor with modern comforts, a convenient location and an incomparable view of the lake and mountains. Inside, this cabin for twelve offers plenty of rooms for family and friends to spread out and enjoy its unique spaces. On the main level, this gorgeous Tennessee rental home features a wide-open floor plan with a stone fireplace that spans the entire height of the rooms from the floor to the peak of the vaulted ceiling.
A comfortable sofa and arm chair are gathered round the fireplace while old-fashioned rockers sit closer to the full-wall of clear glass looking out over the property. A fully equipped kitchen with a breakfast bar and a dining room table is nestled under a lofted sleeping area. Above, the loft is furnished with daybeds, a reading chair, a small game table and a collection of provided board games. On the lower level, a finished basement has been fitted out as a casual recreation room, with a second fireplace, a ping-pong table, a foosball table and an indoor, double-shot arcade basketball system. The basement also offers a separate room with laundry facilities and walk-out access to the back porch and the yard.
Sleeping arrangements: Outter Cove offers three private bedrooms. Two master suites on the main level are furnished with king-sized beds and have adjoining bathrooms. A third bedroom on the lower level is equipped with a queen-sized bed, as well as the third full bathroom. The loft offers sleeping accommodations for four additional overnight guests with four twin-sized beds. There is also a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the main living area.
Outter Cove makes great use of its prime lakeside location and panoramic view through the use of several staggered decks. On the lake-facing side of the house, this cabin features double full-length decks. The upper deck is boosted to tree-top level and is set with a collection of outdoor lounge furniture for guests to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with their view. The lower deck is paved and shaded, and there guests have access to the hot tub. Guests are also provided with both a charcoal and a gas grill.
Further down the sloped property from the house is a lofted deck near the water and a short staircase down to a private pier with double boat docks. From Outter Cove’s unique location on the main channel, a lucky guest might be able to spot the rare eagle or river otter as they make their homes and fish the open water.
Outter Cove is one of the most accessible main channel homes from the busy cities of Gatlinburg, Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. If guests get bored of fishing, boating, swimming and lazing in the sun from this luxury cabin’s private floating dock, a few minutes’ car ride will land them in Tennessee’s famous tourist hub, with live entertainments, amusement parks, amazing natural features and other one-of-a-kind family attractions.
Gatlinburg is home to unique sights such as the Space Needle and Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies (where visitors can view hourly dive shows, walk through a glass tunnel in the giant shark tank, and even dine amongst thousands of exotic fish). Plan an outdoor adventure at Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort & Amusement Parks (with skiing, skating, go-carts, an arcade and a black bear habitat) or on the water at Pigeon River White-Water Adventures.
In Pigeon Forge, visitors can be entertained at a variety of live concerts and shows and chose from a wide selection of local restaurants. Pigeon Forge is home to the Elvis Museum, Carbo’s Smoky Mountain Police Museum, the Smoky Mountain Car Museum and The Incredible (and open year-round) Christmas Place! Sevierville has on of Tennessee’s most scenic 18-hole courses at Eagles Landing Golf Club, as well as the natural wonder the Forbidden Caverns.
Outter Cove is also a neighbor of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, where visitors and hike and explore on foot, and Bluff Mountain Adventures, where the great sights can be taken in from a mountain trail ride tour. Guests are guaranteed a close encounter with the native wildlife at the Smoky Mountain Deer Farm. And for those who like to enjoy nature with a glass of wine in-hand, free tastings and tours can be scheduled at Mountain Valley Vineyards and the Smoky Mountain Winery.
