The Shed is a little bitty couple’s retreat with a larger-than-life mountainside view. A study in excellent use of space, the two-person “shed” is an efficiency apartment meets wilderness retreat, perfect for couples looking to get away from the city, spend some quality time together, and experience new adventures in the Tennessee wilderness not far from downtown Chattanooga.
Though small, The Shed is fully equipped with plumbing and electricity, a full kitchen with modern appliances, a full bath and laundry facilities, as well as a lofted bedroom with a flat-screen Roku TV and DVD player, Wi-Fi, living area with a wood-burning stove and a dining space. A large, covered deck offers a great view through the trees and a wooden picnic table, charcoal grill and lawn chairs, not to mention the outdoor hot tub. The shed is cozy, secluded and romantic — everything you need for the perfect escape.
Sleeping arrangements: A lofted bedroom area on the upper level is furnished with a queen-sized bed and a second sofa/lounge area. Reminder: the staircase is steep! Guests are advised to use both handrails.
It’s true that The Shed looks a bit like backyard tool storage — if it weren’t for the extensive outdoor deck and spa facilities! But this minimalist vacation home on a verdant hill in the Tennessee countryside offers true relaxation and peace of mind, with all of the comforts of home at your fingertips, clean mountain air, plenty of room to park with ease and no worries or expectations.
Lounge on the deck in the sun or in the shade and enjoy the whispering of the trees or soak your tired bones in the jacuzzi while the stars emerge overhead. However you choose to unwind, The Shed is ready for you.
The Shed is located between the trees just 12 miles from Rock City (an intricate trail system with winding paths that lead adventurous visitors past rolling mountain vistas and enormous underground waterfalls) and 17 miles from restaurants and shopping in downtown Chattanooga (home to historic battle sites, trolley tours, excellent marine-life aquariums and breathtaking public parks and gardens, among other attractions).
The rental property sits across the way from the number one hang-gliding flight park in the nation! Guests can sit right outside the rental and watch personal aircraft and recreational hang-gliders soar in and out during the daylight hours (this can be noisy at times). The park’s landing zone regularly hosts cookouts and after-dark campfires, which guests staying at The Shed are welcome to attend. Occasionally, the park will even book live music and entertainment!

Loved it! It was clean, comfortable and accommodating. Loved the view from the deck. Would like to come back in warmer weather to see more of the hang gliding lessons in the hollow. Sarah, March 2018
This was the perfect place to celebrate our 10 -ear Anniversary. Hot Tub was a nice touch and we enjoyed a nice storm on the front porch. I wish the weather would have been better on Saturday, so we could have enjoyed the hang gliders. Maybe next time! I would suggest The Shed to anyone. Amie, Dec. 2017
Quick anniversary getaway — we loved the shed! It was super cozy and very relaxing. The only thing we could have used was a fan upstairs. It got a little stuffy the first night and was a little too quiet for us. Otherwise it was perfect! It rained one day, and we loved the rain on the tin roof! Aubrie, Oct. 2017

We now manage over 22 properties in and around Chattanooga and Dayton, TN. We actually started with a tool shed built on the bluff, then a four-bedroom home with a loft. Both are also vacation rentals now.
We have a vacation lodging license that we got after taking a course through the Tennessee Real Estate Commission. As local property managers; we handle inquiries, bookings, scheduling, cleaning and accounting. We know what it takes to run a successful vacation rental management company.
