Cub’s Cove is a secluded, one-bedroom log cabin, ideal for couples or small families looking to spend quiet nights on the wooded Tennessee mountainside. With a level entry, a large driveway off the main road and the essential living spaces all located on the main floor, this rental home is accessible and comfortable for up to four guests. Cub’s Cove is built in a traditional style, with hardwood floors, ceilings and wall paneling on the interior, giving it a woodsy but high-end feel.
On the side of the cabin that enjoys the best view peering out at the Smokies, a full wall of windows extending into the rafters of the vaulted ceiling offers a spectacular view and plenty of natural light. Though hidden between the trees, Cub’s Cove is fully modernized and features a large kitchen with cookware, dinnerware, appliances, storage and an open counter space. Opposite the kitchen, the great room is fitted with a sofa, a gas-burning fireplace in a stone hearth, and a large flat-screen TV. A dining-room table set for four connects the two spaces, and a hallway near the kitchen leads to the single bedroom. In a lofted upper level, guests will find a recreation space/game room, complete with a pool table and card table.
Sleeping arrangements: This mountain cabin has a single private bedroom that serves as the master suite with a king-sized bed (and a Simmons Beautyrest Plush Foam mattress) and a large Jacuzzi-style tub. The suite also has a second wall-mounted flat-screen TV. The sofa in the great room folds out into a queen-sized bed. Linens are available for both mattresses.
Cub’s Cove is a member of the Black Bear Falls Log Home Community, and as such offers guests exclusive access to resort-style amenities nestled into the lush green hills of Tennessee. The community is home to heated outdoor pools for both children and adults, including a private sundeck area poolside with lounge chairs and splash features. Back at the house, guests have their own outdoor hot tub right on the deck, perfect for a relaxing soak while taking in a flawless view.
The sheltered, open-air deck wraps two sides of the cabin and is supplied with old-fashioned rockers and a table and chairs. Guests can prepare meals in the kitchen, which opens right onto the extensive deck, or use the provided outdoor charcoal grill.
Cub’s Cove is a convenient five-minutes’ drive from the heart of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, which serves as the bustling hub of tourism in the region. There, visitors will find excellent dining options — such as famous Tennessee barbecue, gourmet pizza, steakhouses and seafood.
Start your day at Tennessee’s very first pancake house, then take a tour of the area’s museums, aquariums and outlets. A wide variety of family-friendly entertainments are clustered in and around Gatlinburg, with mini-golf courses (and full-size golf courses), horseback riding and several amusement parks. The city is also home to a thriving artists community, and visitors can browse the galleries, studios and craft shops of where they can admire everything from pottery to woodwork and many unique goods in between.
The cabin is just minutes away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park main entrance, where guests may choose to spend a quieter kind of day outside, exploring the vast system of nature trails, poking around the historic cabins, photographing the breathtaking waterfalls or trying to spot the local wildlife in the brush.

We really enjoyed our stay here! It’s a small cabin but was plenty of room for two. Very clean, great view, and the bathroom was very spacious.
We stayed in this cabin for 10 days in the middle of September. Overall, it was a great place. It was clean, and, according to my husband, had wonderful TV reception/picture. The hot tub was lovely, and the view is great! The bedroom and bath are both more than adequate for two people, and we found the bed comfortable. They provide plenty of towels, and a washer/dryer combination. I did like that everything I needed was on one level, from the driveway to the living room to the bedroom. All in all, this is a charming little place to get away from it all!
Overall, the cabin was great and perfect size for what we needed. It was perfect for our weekend getaway.
