Set deep within the trees and the rolling foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, Wild at Heart is a serene forest retreat out of earshot from crowds and traffic. This modern log cabin is a romantic, one-bedroom home set into the side of a bluff with far-reaching views of the distant peaks visible through the leaves.
Inside, the cavernous vaulted ceilings give an impression of great space, while the cozy sitting room with plush furniture gathered around an old-fashioned stone hearth warms the space and makes guests feel right at home. All of your kitchen necessities — dining ware, cookware and modern appliances, including a dishwasher — are located in a small corner kitchen with an eat-in bistro table and chairs. A staircase leading from the main floor separates the bedroom and ensuite bath with a jetted tub from the shared living space. On a lofted upper level, guests will find a slope-ceilinged game room compete with a pool table and a card table.
Sleeping arrangements: Wild at Heart features a unique sleeping cove, an open bedroom area separated from the sitting room by the heavy staircase. The bedroom is furnished with a log-frame king-sized bed. The sofa in the sitting room can also be converted into a queen-sized bed. Extra linens are provided.
Wild at Heart is surrounded by a covered, wraparound veranda that is luxuriously decorated with an outdoor carpet, cushioned deck chairs and an al-fresco dining table. In a corner of the deck, guests will find an outdoor hot tub, situated near the edge to take full advantage of the wilderness view. This sheltered outdoor space is ideal for reading a book on a rainy day or enjoying an evening soak while the sun goes down. The deck is also provided with a gas grill.
Guests to Wild at Heart will love exploring the surrounding woodlands, which are extensive and quiet, a perfect natural wildlife habitat and birdwatching grounds. The woods are also home to more than one trickling stream, where guests are welcome to cast a line and try their hand at angling their own dinner to grill on the deck. For an outdoor experience with a little bit more grandeur, guests can make the trek to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park — a lightly used entrance is located just a few miles from the cabin.
Here, visitors will find even more fishing opportunities in rivers and fresh-water lakes, extensive nature trails that run alongside fields of wildflowers, waterfalls and lookout points, and even guided tours on foot, bike or horseback. The park also offers a number of scenic picnic spots. Another favorite haunt near this mountain retreat is Walden’s Creek Stables, where guests can fish a stocked pond, ride horses, and enjoy a “Wild West”-themed cookout and dinner show.
Within 20 minutes of this Tennessee cabin, guests can be in the surrounding tourist towns of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, where restaurants, shopping and entertainments abound. Take a day-trip to the city for a look at the Titanic Museum or to visit one of the many unique theaters or other collections and attractions, including galleries, aquariums and amusement parks.

Clean, quiet location Loved the location, clean cabin, the only thing missing for me was a washer/ dryer. This place had everything else I wanted. We did not use the trash outside. I do not recommend, because a bear did come sniff on our porch, but he did leave since there was no trash. Totally recommend! Reviewed April 2018
Beautiful cabin in a great location. Near restaurants, shopping and attractions yet private! This was a very nice cabin in a great location. Upon arrival the cabin was just what was described. You could tell that the cabin had been cleaned and the sheets were freshly laundered. I would have rated it 5 stars, but the only complaint we had was the comforter and pillow shams were noticeably unclean and in serious need of washing. Luckily, we had a quilt in our car that we were able to use. This cabin is pet-friendly and did not smell at all...as a matter of fact smelled very clean! Other than the quilt and shams it is an A+.
