Brook Trout Chalet is a large vacation home set in a valley right on the edge of a Tennessee mountain stream. The chalet has a level, green lawn and clear sight lines leading to the wooded bluffs all around.
A wraparound deck and an upper level balcony make the most of this secluded getaway’s lonely wilderness view — You can even cast a line to the stream right from the deck’s rails. Inside, Brook Trout is modern and decorated in warm, calming colors. A spacious great room is decorated with a sofa and reading chairs and has a blanched hearth and a large-screen TV. A formal dining room at the cabin is set with a long table and chairs for six guests. The room is scenic and open, with a full fall of windows looking out to the enveloping pines. A full kitchen on the main level is equipped with dining ware, kitchen ware, utensils and appliances, and a bonus room connecting the kitchen to the living room is furnished with a smaller table and an old-fashioned wooden bench. There is a full bath located on each floor at Brook Trout Chalet. Laundry facilities are included, as well as towels and bed linens.
Sleeping arrangements: The upper level of this Tennessee rental cabin is a sleeping loft with two private bedrooms and a third semi-private bedroom. The master bedroom is furnished with one queen-sized bed. The second bedroom has two queens and a set of French doors that lead to the balcony. In the open sleeping area, there is a twin-sized day bed, and the great room sofa also pulls out into a queen-sized bed, for a total overnight capacity of nine guests.
Brook Trout Chalet’s most defining feature is the excellent fishing stream that rolls right past the deck to one side — no need to even put on shoes to go fishing at this mountain retreat. The double decker decks are so spacious that the cabin’s nine guests can all enjoy the view at the same time from their comfort and convenience, not to mention the hot tub.
Located on the lower deck to the back of the house near the river, the outdoor hot tub is ideally situated for guests to take an evening soak under the bright wilderness stars while drinking in the fresh mountain air and the sound of the trickling stream. The lower deck also offers a charcoal grill for cookouts.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park is only a short drive from the restorative Brook Trout Chalet. There, guests can enjoy the best the region has to offer in the form of nature trails, lookout points. waterfalls, historic cabin tours, great fishing at lakes and rivers, and a variety of wildlife including elk and black bears. Don’t forget to bring your camera!
The cabin is also close enough for a short day-trip to downtown Gatlinburg, where guests will find a veritable buffet of restaurants, a renowned aquarium, live shows and music, outdoor parks, and a number of unique museums ranging from the Guinness World of Records Museum to a collection that tells the story of the Titanic, and many other oddities in between. On the side of town nearest Brook Trout Chalet, guests can explore the eight-mile Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Loop, which is home to more than 100 varieties of artists and craftsmen.
Visitors can browse the galleries and studios and see many creative masterpieces in the making, from stained glass and potter to custom-made knives and chainsaw sculpture. Closer still are the Over Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, — home to the mountain coaster — Dollywood, golf resorts, outlet shopping, white-water rafting guides and much more.

Amazing We absolutely loved Brook Trout Chalet. My kids played in the creek that ran in front of the house every single day. I, however, used the hot tube every night after hiking the trails in the Smoky Mountains. The house is about 30 minutes from Gatlinburg and the park, which makes restaurants easily accessible. We will definitely be returning in the future. I am sure the scenery in the fall is absolutely beautiful. Reviewed May 2018
It is a rustic little Chalet. Overall the Chalet was nice. The stairs going to the second story are not standard stairs. They are more like a loft ladder. It didn't cause problems with us, but it might with some families. The stream was pretty, and the kids had fun playing in it. Reviewed April 2018
Really enjoyed the Serenity! Nature at its best and very clean. Enjoyed sitting on the deck just listening to the stream flow early mornings. Visits from otters in early am was a plus! Spacious house with room for an entire family plus. Close to all things Gatlinburg but great restaurants close by too. Check out The Fox and Parrot — great beer selection and Irish pub food, Three Jimmy's — great smoked pork Taste of Italy — true homemade pizzas! If you are looking for the Taj Mahal, keep scrolling but if you are looking to stay just out of all the noise in a clean place, enjoy nature with a short drive to any and everything plus hidden gems, this is the place for you! We will be back — Thanks for making this rental available, clean and enjoyable! Reviewed April 2018
Our time on the mountain was BEAUTIFUL. When using navigation, take the route from Gatlinburg, the road is much better. Reviewed March 2018
