The Moose Is Loose is a two-story, luxury log cabin that tailors the mountain retreat experience to couples, with four private suites and an outdoor hot tub. This spacious home has plenty of room for couples or families to spread out and relax in quiet spaces, while also offering large group gathering places and cozy shared living spaces.
This home is beautifully furnished in a rustic, woodsy style with custom wood floors, high ceilings, an enormous stone hearth and lots of wide windows to bring in the view and the natural lighting. The main floor encompasses a sitting room with a flat-screen TV and comfortable sofas, a dining area with seating for eight, and a fully equipped, modern kitchen with a breakfast bar that seats four, plenty of counter space and all the desired appliances. On the upper level, a loft looks out over the great room and serves as a gaming and recreation room with a unique log-frame pool table, air hockey, another TV and a pair of leather sofas. The entire home is warm and inviting, with ambient lighting, polished wooden surfaces and charming decorative touches.
Guests to The Moose Is Loose don’t have to worry about finding parking space — the cabin is off the main road, with a wide, flat paved area that can accommodate multiple vehicles or trailers.
Sleeping arrangements: All four private bedrooms at The Moose Is Loose — two on the main level and two upstairs — are equipped with a king-sized bed and a private bath, as well as a TV and clothing and luggage storage space. Two of the bathrooms even have a jetted tub. There is additional sleeping space available on a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the great room. Linens are provided for all sleeping areas.
To the back of the house facing the mountains, The Moose Is Loose features a spacious, open-air deck that stretches across the length of the home, with a view that looks out over the treetops. The deck is furnished with chairs and rockers, enough for everyone staying at the cabin to enjoy the scenery and the fresh mountain air together. The surrounding woodlands are home to falcons, warblers and whip-poor-wills that are enjoyable to watch and listen to on calm days.
The hot tub is also located on the deck, perfectly positioned under the open sky for a wonderful, relaxing star-gazing experience. Guests also have access to a charcoal grill.
The Moose Is Loose is located just 15 minutes from downtown Gatlinburg, home of Tennessee’s most exciting tourism hub with hundreds of restaurants and excellent shopping, among other unique entertainments. Guests to this mountain cabin are just a short drive from Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, the Guinness World of Records museum, the Anakeesta outdoor theme park, mini golf courses and arcades, and an aerial tram that delivers sight-seers to the Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area, with year-round adventure activities and a wildlife encounter.
The Moose is Loose is also 15 minutes from the famous Great Smoky Mountains National Park, complete with trout streams, cliffside nature trails, waterfalls and historical cabins. Hiking, biking, white-water rafting, boating, fishing and picnicking are all popular activities at the national park. Closer to the cabin, visitors can spend an afternoon exploring along the 8-mile-long Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community loop, with its various art galleries, craft studios and shops. Here, patrons of the arts can find original works in every discipline, from quilts to candles to blown glass to chainsaw sculpture — more than 120 stops in all. Within 30 minutes, guests can find themselves in the neighboring town of Pigeon Forge, home to the Dollywood shows and amusement park.
