The Lake House is nestled in a calm cove on Douglas Lake with a distant view of the Smoky Mountains. This three-bedroom modern vacation home features a large, grassy yard and off-street parking in a covered garage and private drive. To the back of the house, the property slopes steeply to a private shoreline where the lawn transitions directly into the glassy surface of Douglas Lake.
Inside, amenities and living spaces are spread over two levels. The main floor houses the great room and the fully equipped kitchen, with modern appliances, a breakfast bar, a dining room with a table set for four and a cozy sitting room furnished with leather sofas. The sitting room opens out onto a balcony where guests will find a second dining area. A stone hearth with a gas fireplace and a large, flat-screen TV top off these comfortable rooms.
On the lower floor, three private bedrooms enjoy garden-level views and their own flat-screen TVs. The lower level also offers laundry access, an office work space, a pool table, a wet bar, a table and chairs, a sectional sofa and a walk-out patio.
Sleeping arrangements: The master suite is furnished with a king-sized bed and has a private-access full bath. The other two bedrooms are furnished with a queen-sized bed each and share a hall bathroom.
On the lake-facing side, The Lake House features double-decks, with an open-air balcony and a sheltered lower patio. The patio is where guests will be able to use the charcoal grill and soak in the hot tub. The home’s large lawn offers plenty of room to run and play, while a private floating dock is great for fishing or keeping boats and jet skis.
Recreation at Dandridge revolves around the water. Fish like a local at Douglas Dam, or take advantage of the local gear rental venues to engage in water sports of all kinds. Venture out for dinner or after-dinner ice cream at one of the community marinas — Mountain Harbor, Lighthouse Pointe and Swann’s Marina are all accessible and ready to gear you up for a day on the waves.
If you like to golf you’re in luck — the Dandridge Golf and Country Club is both scenic and challenging. The terrain around the town and lake is traversed by Dandridge Partnership Trail, which is excellent for hiking. If you’re into heights, Dandridge, TN, is home to some unexpected thrill venues including Skydive East Tennessee and Smoky Mountain Balloon Adventures. Or, you can keep your feet on the ground and get your thrills at the Wolf Paws nature and wildlife area.
Other unique local attractions include the Shoppes at Roper Mansion (filled with antiques and collectibles, gift shops, jewelry and home décor) and the Lach Amore Winery. Dandridge also has its own local history, which visitors can explore at the Smoky Mountain Motorcycle Museum or the Revolutionary War Graveyard.
