Imagine walking into the Mountain Memories getaway. From the moment you enter, the stuffed armchair and fireplace will beckon you in. It’s hard to resist an afternoon nap or an evening movie in the living room. In the summertime, walk down to the pool and cool off under the sun.
When it’s time to eat, you may want to whip up a home cooked meal in the vintage kitchen to share in the dining area. If you dread the idea of cooking while on vacation, no worries! Downtown Gatlinburg is only 10 minutes away, with restaurant cuisines of all types. After all, your vacation is a time to relax and reset. That’s why we have included the Jacuzzi tub in the main bedroom to de-stress with a jetted bath.
Sleeping arrangements: Both bedrooms each feature one queen-sized bed, comfortable sleeping up to four guests.
This mountain cabin resembles an East Asian yurt as well as a traditional cabin. Conventional is the last thing Mountain Memories is known for. You’ll notice the dome-shaped ceiling with the floor-to-ceiling windows shaped around the living area.
Take in all the sights from the wraparound back deck, or even indoors in front of the grand fireplace. As a guest, you also share access to the complex swimming pool during the summer and winter time. Lastly, for your convenience, a private washer and dryer are available for use.
It may be tempting to spend your whole vacation in the cabin on its own. The crown jewel of Mountain Memories’ location is the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The perfect trail is waiting for you – there are over 150 hiking trails to choose from in the Smokey’s! We recommend the Laurel Falls Trail, a 2-hour intermediate hike leading to a stunning waterfall. To see the flora and fauna up close, book a tour at nearby Cades Cove. If you are lucky, you might even spot some black bears!
Within 30 minutes of your mountain cottage is the lively city of downtown Gatlinburg. Here you’ll find all the restaurants, shopping, outdoor activities, and entertainment for all members of the family. There are so many possibilities, it’s far too many to name. For a unique day trip, our top recommendation is Wonderworks: an interactive and upside-down museum. If you are looking for an adults-only escape, tour the Smoky Mountain Brewery as well. There is truly something for everyone, no matter the occasion.
