Cherokee Winds is a small mountain cabin with a covered porch and picturesque dormer windows. This two-bedroom home is located high in the mountains in a secluded, wooded area with a great view and a level, paved parking area for up to two vehicles.

The home includes two stories — a great room area that combines the shared living spaces, and a lofted upper level that keeps the sleeping quarters separate from the noise of the living room and kitchen. The front entrance passes through a covered veranda and into the great room, with high ceilings, large windows and natural-finish hardwood floors. A cozy seating area includes two leather sofas and a homey rug in front of a large stone hearth and a traditional wood-burning fireplace.

The L-shaped great room continues on to an open dining area with a table and chairs for four, then ends in a well-appointed corner kitchen with new countertops, a small island and plenty of storage to keep the work areas clean and clear, while providing a full arsenal of places settings, cookware and utensils. Modern appliances include a full-sized oven, stove top, refrigerator and dishwasher, as well as a collection of smaller convenience items. The far side of the cabin’s great room is covered in floor-to-ceiling windows, as well as sliding glass doors that lead to a furnished balcony on the mountains-facing side. The balcony is equipped with old-fashioned wooden rockers and a four-person hot tub.

Sleeping arrangements: This quiet cabin’s two private bedrooms are located on the second floor and are equipped with both dresser storage space and large closets, so guests can unpack and make themselves at home. Both bedrooms are furnished with king-sized beds and have their own flat-screen TVs, as well as access to a full bathroom each. The master bedroom also includes a large whirlpool tub with a private-view window. This rental’s third full bathroom is located on the ground floor near the kitchen.

Unique Features

Cherokee Winds includes a selection of bonus rooms that will really make your vacation all it can be, including a game room with a pool table, a home theater with four padded movie seats and a large, wall-mounted television, and a bright laundry room with a full-sized washer and dryer.

Things To Do

Cherokee Winds is the perfect luxury cabin rental for a small family or for two couples looking to explore the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area from a home base high in the mountains. From here, visitors to Tennessee can enjoy some of the state’s best man-made attractions, as well as some of its most famous natural wonders. Cherokee Winds is location just minutes away from the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort and Amusement Park and is also conveniently located to an entrance point to Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Ober Gatlinburg is an exciting year-round attraction with harrowing, powder-covered slopes, a unique wildlife experience, and the famous Mountain Coaster. The resort is also the starting point for the Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway, which offers both hassle-free transportation to the Gatlinburg downtown strip and a stunning bird’s-eye view of the surrounding countryside. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is America’s only national park that does not charge an entrance fee, making it the ideal daytrip to offset pricey attractions in the city. In the park, guests have unlimited access to beautiful mountain trails for hiking, biking and cross-country skiing, as well as historic cabin tours, scenic picnic points, mountain streams full of trout, hidden waterfalls and crystal-clear mountain lakes. If adventure is in your blood, you’ll want to seek out some of Gatlinburg’s fast-paced outdoor activities, such as ziplining or whitewater rafting — Gatlinburg even has a one-of-a-kind downhill zorbing course!

Visitors to the area can also explore the terrain underground, with guided tours of the tunnels and colorful rock formations at the Forbidden Caverns. Downtown Gatlinburg is also worthy of spending one of your vacation days exploring the sights and sounds of the city, with a number of museums and strange collections, great shopping and tons of local restaurants. Spend a romantic evening on the town and end up with an after-dark view of the lighted city skyline from the top of the Gatlinburg Space Needle.

Whether you are coming with family or friends, or to spend some time alone as a couple, Gatlinburg’s many entertainments and attractions will fill your days with excitement and wonder. Reviews

Sept. 22, 2018. We had a great time in Gatlinburg celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this week. The cabin was perfect! Super clean and the view from the back deck was amazing! There is an Ober ride that makes occasional noise behind us, but it was no distraction from the beauty. We did have a visitor...a black bear...who showed up in the back yard! Buddy only make a couple of appearances, and he added to the fun of the week. Tracey from Jonesboro
