Hiker’s Lodge is a cozy mountain Chalet with a phenomenal view of the surrounding hills and valleys from its location high in the peaks. The home is a three-story ranch-style cabin with room for up to 10 overnight guests — ideal for a weeklong getaway with friends or extended family.

The main floor of this mountain cabin is set up as one large, welcoming room. The great room includes a sitting area with sofas and arm chairs, a large flat-screen TV, a family-style dining table with seating for eight, and a corner kitchen that is fully equipped with place settings, cookware and modern appliances. This room also features vaulted ceilings, large windows on three sides, beautiful, custom-stained and polished natural wood floors, cozy area rugs and a fireplace.

During the holiday season, the space can be pre-decorated in anticipation of your stay. Lights and dressed trees are the perfect centerpiece to this lonely mountain cabin, especially when combined with a snowy view out the lower windows and a crackling fire in the traditional stone hearth. The lofted upper level at Hiker’s Lodge provides access to two of the three bedrooms and the balcony.

Sleeping arrangements: From the top down, Hiker’s Lodge offers two guest suites on the upper level. One is furnished with a king-sized bed, an ensuite full bath and a fireplace; the other is furnished with a queen-sized bed and also enjoys its own fireplace. A second king suite is located on the main level, while the lowest level features a bunk room with a queen-sized futon and a set of twin-sized bunkbeds.

Unique Features

Hiker’s Lodge is uniquely set up to accommodate families with older children, as it is easy to set kids up to sleep in the lower-level bunk room near the game room and pool table, while couples and adults enjoy the upper-level suites. This three-bedroom mountain lodge is located at the end of a steep, winding drive, and provides off-street parking for up to two vehicles. The lodge’s balcony is equipped with two picnic tables and a large gas-powered grill.

Things To Do

Gatlinburg, Tennessee is a whirlwind of activity, catering to everyone from young children to older couples. The city is home to hundreds of unique restaurants, gift shops, outlets, live music, one-of-a-kind museums and stunning natural features.

Hiker’s Lodge is located so that guests can see the Aerial Tramway from the property. The tramway is just one of several unique adventures to be embarked upon at the neighboring Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort and Amusement Park — other activities include downhill skiing, golf and a wildlife experience. Gatlinburg is settled in one of America’s most beautiful landscapes, offering guests the opportunity to explore mountain peaks, hidden waterfalls, mountain vineyards and underground caverns.

Guests can choose their mode of travel through these natural wonders, and can view the local countryside from horseback, on foot, by mountain bike, on a careening raft, or via aerial zipline tour. Visitors should also plan on seeing the unique regional craftsmanship of the celebrated Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Community, which showcases some of its best work in an eight-mile walking loop filled with galleries, workshops and boutiques right outside of Gatlinburg.

Reviews

Paula from Hamilton, Sep. 02, 2018. I have worked with Chalet Village since the 80s when I was a leisure travel agent. I’m no longer in leisure and don’t really get the chance to book reservations, however, CV was the only company I thought of when making a reservation for myself and family. I am so glad that CV has the same great customer service! The chalet was perfect!
Patricia from Sharpsville, Sep. 01, 2018. We loved everything about 1820 Hikers Lodge other than the driveway
Laverne from Tallahassee, Aug. 26, 2018. The Chalet served as our home base for all of the hiking biking shopping and dining experiences for the week. Saw a couple bears, lots of turkeys, rain showers — all in all a complete week. Thanks for everything
Ann from Columbus, Aug. 20, 2018. You were great. My only complaint was too high in the mountains.
Randall from Lexington, Aug. 18, 2018. We love your company and your cabin rentals, after discovering you a few years ago and our first stay in one of your cabins, we fell in love with Chalet Village and would never stay any were else.
Stanley from Monessen, July 23, 2018. Excellent rental property. Great views and clean property. Enjoyable and relaxing vacation spot. Driveway is a little tight, but we fit our GMC Acadia down it with no problems.
Donna from Branson, July 17, 2018. Our stay in the 1820 Hiker's Lodge was incredible. We loved seeing all the bears, eating on the deck every evening as a family, and playing cards or games every evening. The cabin was big enough for all of us to have space if we needed it. Our adult kids enjoyed the hot tub and our grandkids enjoyed the pool. It was very comfortable and lots of fun. The only suggestions I would make are to have some kind of pantry for food to be stored in. There was no place to put the food we bought for the week. We had to shift dishes around in one cabinet and pots and pans in another and we put the rest of it in bags on the floor. There were only 2 dishcloths and 2 dishtowels for us to use and only a couple tall glasses amongst a lot of small cups. These are only minor things in the grand scheme of things and we would definitely stay here again.
Sharyn from Louisville, July 04, 2018. We had a wonderful week (as always:)). The cabin was great and fit our needs perfectly. We loved seeing all of the bears - even seeing the evidence of a bear trying to get in our cars - twice! Thank you for everything.
Patrick from Cincinnati, May 07, 2018. Very nice rental unit. Everything was clean and maintained well. It's nice dealing with people face to face and not a website and a telephone number. We will be back with you folks. Thank You!
Don from Marietta, April 15, 2018. Everything right on the money as always. We have been staying with chalet village properties for many years and have no complaints. If you are wondering about a good place to stay in the Gatlinburg area then look no further. They run a tight ship here! Thanx guys we’ll be back soon!
