Chalet TreLea is a recently renovated mountain cabin with a traditional A-frame roof and a tall, stove-pipe chimney stack. Peering through the trees, this home looks like a fairytale cottage.
On the main floor, a spacious, open floorplan encompasses a sitting room, dining space and kitchen. The sitting room includes a leather sofa, a wing-backed reading chair and an oversized arm chair with an ottoman, as well as a wood-burning fireplace in a corner hearth and a large flat-screen TV. To the side of the sitting room, a narrow dining room leads through to the kitchen, with a rectangular table set for four. The kitchen is fully equipped with a refrigerator, oven and stovetop, as well as smaller appliances and cooking and dining amenities. Old-fashioned copper plating on one wall and hanging storage for glassware gives the space a unique and cozy atmosphere — the perfect place to prepare a homecooked meal.
Sleeping arrangements: Chalet TreLea has a single private bedroom on the main level. This serves as the master suite with a king-sized bed and adjoining bath with a large walk-in shower. Additional sleeping space can be found on the upper-level loft, which is open but separated from the shared living spaces by the curving stairway. The loft overlooks the living room and is furnished with a twin-sized bed with a trundle and a queen-sized bed. The loft also features a half-bath.
Chalet TreLea features an extensive outdoor deck space. Located to the front of the house as viewed from the winding private drive, the deck is unsheltered and spacious, accessible via a short flight of stairs from the outdoors and connected to the living area via the front door.
The deck is furnished with a wicker bench — ideal for sipping a morning coffee and listening to the birds sing the new day in the fresh mountain air — as well as a table and chairs for six and a six-person hot tub. From the deck, guests will be able to hear the babbling of a mountain stream. This home also offers off-street parking for at least two vehicles.
This secluded mountain chalet is located not far from the downtown strip at Gatlinburg, offering easy day-trip access to hundreds of restaurants, shops and family attractions. There is an outlet mall, a famed aquarium, and of course top-notch barbecue — not to mention a thriving Arts & Crafts Community, which visitors can see by walking the eight-mile Gatlinburg loop where local artisans showcase their work.
Other can’t-miss Tennessee touristing opportunities in the area include the Great Smoky Mountains National Park — home to hiking and biking trails, hidden falls, fields of wildflowers in the warmer months and historic cabin sites — as well as a network of underground tunnels and caverns, mountain vineyards and excellent trout streams. Chalet TreLea is also located a convenient distance from Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort and Amusement Park, where guests can indulge in golf, downhill skiing, a wildlife experience, a mountain coaster, and see the mountain landscape from the top of the Aerial Tramway.
Many other attractions in the area are also worth stopping in to see, such as the Guinness World of Records Museum and nearby Dollywood in Pigeon Forge. Take it all in from your vacation home-base in the Chalet Village.
