Although this Tennessee take on Matterhorn may not be as grand as the Matterhorn peak in the Alps, this luxury cabin still delivers on bringing you an exquisite stay. Paying homage to the Alpine inspiration, this luxury cabin is lined wall-to-ceiling with light wooden planks. The furniture and renovated kitchen add a dark contrast to the color scheme, bringing the entire place together.
Consider the Matterhorn your mountainside retreat. Walk onto the back covered deck as you sip your morning coffee, breathing in the crisp mountain air. After a long day of hiking, treat your sore muscles to a soak in the outdoor hot tub. When it is time to bring the party indoors, challenge your friends to a game of air hockey or pool in the basement! Fall and winter vacations also make a great time to sit by the stone fireplace and relax on our stuffed leather sofas. Invite a group of up to 10 friends and family members to help make your experience unforgettable.
Sleeping arrangements: The Matterhorn Lodge has two bedrooms with king beds, and a separate bedroom with a queen bed. The final cabin bedroom has a set of twin bunk beds, perfect for children. This totals 4 bedrooms, sleeping up to 10 guests. To make more room, there is a queen-sized sofa bed to accommodate your sleeping arrangements.
The Matterhorn brings its own flavor as a Smoky Mountain cabin stay. Families and friends alike love playing in the game room downstairs on a rainy day. After a game of pool or hockey, take in your surroundings on the sprawling back deck, ideally in one of the rocking chairs. The deck is even topped off with your own private hot tub, overlooking the lush and private forest.
Indoors you’ll find the most inviting kitchen and living room a cottage can offer. Whether you are microwaving a snack or cooking a five-course meal, dine out in the renovated kitchen. Just across the way, the stuffed leather sofas in front of the fireplace are impossible to resist. For your convenience, the Matterhorn also includes a washer/dryer combination unit for guests.
As part of the luxury Smoky Cove Resort, all Matterhorn rental home guests may access all resort amenities. This includes the seasonal pool, golf course, grilling area for picnics, fire pit, and more.
Matterhorn is located just near Sevierville and Pigeon Forge. Adventurers love go-karting in one of the many nearby locations, or hitting the ski slopes during the winter. This is before even mentioning the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with some of the best hiking and nature views in the Eastern United States. The city of downtown Gatlinburg is only a few miles from Matterhorn! Here you can find just about any family vacation activity you can think of. Visit downtown to shop, eat, laugh, and be merry. Our guests traveling with young children love the Ripley Aquarium, and the Gatlinburg Sky Lift ride is always worth a visit (unless you’re afraid of heights).
