Stand in Awe is known for its stunning views of the Great Smoky Mountains as it is located in Gatlinburg’s private Cobbly Nob neighborhood. From the cabin’s two large decks you can admire the Smokies as well as the surrounding woodlands.
The picture windows of the living room and the dining room also face the Smoky Mountains, bringing the beauty of the outdoors inside. Many of the visitors who stayed at Stand in Awe return to the cabin year after year; it’s that special.
The large screened-in porch, furnished with comfortable seating and a patio table, is another prime spot for admiring the view. The screens will keep uninvited buzzing guests out, and the ceiling fan makes the room a refreshing retreat even in midsummer.
Furnished with plush couches, armchairs, and a recliner sure to be the most sought-after seat in the house, the living room is spacious enough to accommodate the whole gang. The wood-burning fireplace will bathe the room in a golden warmth. There’s a large flat-screen TV here, and a second one in the downstairs game room. Another inviting hangout spot, the game room has a pool table, a game table (ideal for poker and Parcheesi alike), and a wet bar with a microwave. If you work up a thirst shooting pool or playing cards, you won’t have to head upstairs to the kitchen for a beverage.
Sleeping Arrangements at Stand in Awe: Sleeps up to eight people comfortably. With four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Each of the four spacious suites has its own bathroom, a TV, plenty of storage, and elegant yet rustic furnishings.
Three bedrooms include a king size bed. The fourth bedroom has a plush queen, plus a desk in case you need to catch up on work during your stay (don’t worry; Stand in Awe has free WiFi).
In the summer you’ll have free access to its two swimming areas, and year-round you can walk or bike along its trails. Several sitting areas, furnished with chairs and tables, let you bring in the crisp breeze rustling through the trees and the sight of falcons soaring over the mountains. One of the decks has a swing—fun for the kids during the day, delightfully romantic for adults at night. Included there is a splendid hot tub to relax in. A long soak among its massaging jets is the perfect end to an action-packed day.
Speaking of the kitchen, it’s outfitted with sparkling stainless-steel appliances, gleaming countertops, and plenty of cookware, tableware, and elbow room. Preparing meals here is a pleasure. So is eating them at the dining table, which seats eight, or at the adjacent breakfast bar, which seats four. Prefer to cook in the open air? One of the decks has a large grill.
This aweing home’s other amenities include a washer and dryer, a CD/tape player, and parking for four vehicles on its paved driveway. Enjoy this oh so fabulous location, as just at the foot of the resort in which Stand in Awe resides, is the award-winning Bent Creek Golf Course, designed by the Golf champion Gary Player.
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park, a wonderland of wildlife, wildflowers, and waterfalls, is only fifteen minutes away. Both Rocky Top Sports World and the Smoky Mountains Arts & Crafts Community, an eight-mile trail of more than 120 galleries, shops, and studios, are less than twenty minutes away. And just a few minutes further is downtown Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Adventure, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, thrill rides, arcades, restaurants galore, and a tram that will carry you over the town to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park & Ski Area.

Beautiful view. Comfy living room. Great amenities. Downstairs Christmas Room has an old uncomfortable bed. The rest of the beds were fine.
Cabin was clean. Full set of dishes and silverware. Hot tub was perfect. Loved the tiled showers. Furniture was comfortable. The view from the three picture windows on the main floor was awesome! Only complaint is we couldn’t stay longer.
Easy check in, everyone was nice and helpful. Central location. Close to everything. Beautiful. Website was not as easy to navigate. Ready to schedule another rental.
beautiful getaway. amazing views of mountains. 20 minutes from Gatlinburg. Very quiet location. Tons of space. 4 big bedrooms and 4 full baths. Kids loved the pool table and the hot tub was brand new. House had a great layout and everything we needed. Perfect retreat after day of hiking.
We had four married couples stay at this beautiful cabin for the weekend, and left the kids at home with family so we could relax. There was plenty of room for all of us and everything was beautifully decorated. We had all of the information we needed to access the place and use the accommodations. Stunning views! I would definitely recommend this vacation rental and would love to return!
