This custom built, luxury log cabin is calling your name! Able to sleep 4 guests in its 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, Timberwinds is set atop a small knoll sheltered by trees for ultimate privacy. If you are needing a couple’s weekend away, a girls’ trip in the mountains, or a full family getaway, this cabin is custom designed and ready for your adventure to begin. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the custom designed, mountain inspired, 2-story wonder with stain glass windows by local artist Chuck Ottolini.

The living room invites with its leather furniture and is complimented by the stacked stone fireplace perfect for relaxing evenings. The kitchen is complete with all the cooking utensils and dinnerware needed to fix a delicious meal or just a healthy snack. After dinner, move onto one of 3 decks where you can kick back and relive the day’s activities, or plan tomorrow’s ski adventure at the nearby slopes of Ober Gatlinburg.

Marvel at the mountain views from the large outdoor hot tub or gather around the firepit to roast some marshmallows and listen to the crickets sing. If you are feeling a bit more competitive, challenge your friends to a game of pool in the loft game room. Timberwinds has so much to offer when you stay in, but it’s also is close to the excitement that awaits in downtown Gatlinburg.

Heading to the bedrooms, there will be no need to fight, with 2 master suites to offer solace from the day’s activities. Each bedroom boasts a memory foam mattress, the softest of bed coverings, a jetted soaking tub, and a large 2-person walk-in shower with dual shower heads for extreme luxury. Each suite also has its own TV to add an option for retreat from the group before bed.

Living Room

This living room is perfectly inviting with its high ceilings, wood floors, soft leather sofa, and 2 leather armchairs set off with a brightly colored area rug. The wood slab coffee table is at home in this mountain log cabin. Enjoy the beauty of the stacked stone around the gas fireplace, and the warmth it gives, as you curl up with a book on a cool winter day.

You will have plenty of light day or night with all of the lamps giving you extra light wherever it’s needed, and the floor to ceiling windows letting in the sun and sharing the beauty of the mountain views. To add to this room, it has a 32” cable TV to watch your favorite sporting event or let the family gather, grab a blanket, and settle in to watch a DVD.

Kitchen

Just off the living room you will find the kitchen. It has beautiful wood floors, ceilings, cabinets, and accents to constantly remind of the cabin in the woods feel. You have updated stainless steel appliances and all the cookware and dishware you will need to fix a big family meal or prepare snacks before the big game. A full-size refrigerator is so nice for any groceries or leftovers, and your dishwasher is available for easy cleanup. A high-top table with 4 chairs is ready for morning breakfast of bacon and eggs, or a competitive game of Rook.

Rec Room

Going up the stairs you get to admire more of the beautiful woodwork on the ceiling, rails, floors and stairs. Sure to also catch your eye? The custom stained glass windows made by a local artist, Chuck Ottolini. Upstairs you have a loft area that has a pool table and 4 seats at a ledge overlooking the living room.

Bedrooms

Both of the king-size suites offer similar conveniences as they wrap any guests in complete, over the top luxury. They both have soft, plush carpeting underfoot and bedside tables with lamps to read by. Both rooms have an indoor jetted tub in the bedroom area which lends itself to watching TV while soaking in bubbles and letting the worries melt away.

Both bedrooms also have large bathrooms with plenty of counter space, tile floors, and a double shower with duel shower heads to offer a little opulence to your stay. The king-size beds have king pillows, soft memory foam mattresses, and inviting quilts to snuggle under for a wonderful night’s rest. Each room also has its own private balcony access to take advantage of.

Outdoor Spaces

Timberwinds has many outdoor places to add to its already over the top luxury. The front deck can be accessed through either the living room or the bedroom. Out the living room doors, you will find a log picnic table perfect for lunch from the charcoal grill or a late afternoon game of cards. Out the bedroom doors, you come upon a bar at the edge of the deck with 4 chair seating, ideal for sitting with coffee, and watching the sunrise or sunset over the mountains.

Down from these two sections of deck, you’ll find the 4-person hot tub covered with its own little roof. Follow the stairs that lead down from the hot tub and this takes you to your ring firepit, complete with rocker bench and large stones surrounding the dropoff.

Other Amenities

Timberwinds has even more to offer with its location in the Chalet Village community which gives you additional access to areas with even more amenities. Ping pong, pool, foosball, checkers, and chess are found inside parts of the three clubhouses as well as a universal gym. Outside you can find paved walking trails to stroll. Bring your own towel and find one of the three swimming pools all with changing rooms. Entertain yourself with horseshoes and other yard games or play a few matches of tennis on the lighted tennis courts.

For children 12 and under, the kids’ playland enclosure is ideal, located at the South Baden Clubhouse or the kiddie pool with the cascading rain drop umbrella at the Upper Alpine Clubhouse. Guests staying in cabins in Chalet Village also have access to the clubhouse banquet and meeting rooms (for a fee) for wedding receptions, reunions or other group gatherings.

Reviews

Had a great time. The cabin was very nice. Very clean, well maintained. The view was awesome. We even had a visitor on our second morning. A beautiful black bear. We were so excited and he or she could have cared less. Just walking by on a morning stroll. It made our day! We had fun playing pool. Will definitely come back . And tell all my friends to go. Could not get in when we got there code did not work. Called and promptly got a new code in the matter of 5 mins. Thank you cabins for you.
Had a great stay at the Timberwinds cabin, very clean with pretty mountain views. Very close to everything (Smokey Mountain trails for hiking and downtown for dinner). On our last night there while relaxing in the hot tub after a hike in the smokies, we encountered a momma bear with her 3 Cubs walking through. Definitely plan to make another trip in the future!
When I say you get exactly what is in the picture. I was truly not expecting much, but was blown away by the experience. I needed to get away and this was a great place to do it. The only thing you will hear is the wind blowing in the trees. I never travel to the same place twice, but am very tempted to do so because of an amazing experience.
