Journey’s End is a sprawling, richly appointed estate on a private estate looking out over the Tennessee rivers and valleys to the Great Smoky Mountains beyond. Located on the highest point of the Cedar Falls Resort, the misty mountainscape views from Journey’s End are unobstructed and unmatched, with plenty of comfortable outdoor areas prepared for guests to enjoy them.

A large veranda framed in stone archways sits at the property’s mountain-facing edge, with multiple sundecks and balconies scattered around the perimeter of the home, providing lounge space and alfresco dining areas on all sides, in the sun or shade. A private, outdoor pool is available in the summer months, as well as a year-round gas fire pit and an outdoor hot tub. And it that’s not enough, Journey’s End is also equipped with a private, scenic putting green. Inside, oversized windows invite the mountain scenery, while leather sofas and armchairs gathered around stone fireplaces gives the large, open spaces a cozy ambiance. A gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with dining and cooking necessities, as well as all modern appliances. A large kitchen island provides food preparation space, while doubling as a breakfast bar with stools for four. The dining room nearby features a long table set for ten.

Sleeping arrangements: Journey’s End features five bedrooms in total — three in the main lodge, and two in a separate guest house on the grounds. The main lodge bedrooms are furnished with a king-sized bed each, along with a flat-screen TV and a mountain-view window. One of the bedrooms has a private fireplace and direct balcony access. In the guest house, bedroom one features a king-sized bed and bedroom two a queen. An additional queen-sized sofa bed brings Journey’s End’s total overnight guest capacity to 12.

Unique Features

Along with large, luxury living spaces, sprawling grounds and a private guest house, Journey’s End houses an in-home theater room with eight cinema-style seats and surround-sound viewing. A bonus game room in the main lodge features a pool table, air hockey and a card table. Perhaps best of all — especially in the harsh winter months — Journey’s End offers a private sauna to supplement the spa and pool features on the deck.

Along with two extra bedrooms, the guest house has its own great room, a TV den, a second fully equipped kitchen, and a dining room for four.

Things To Do

Journey’s End is a world unto itself, a private estate set far from noise and traffic, and equipped with all the luxuries and amenities of a high-end resort. However, the sights and sounds of town are not more than a half-hour’s drive from the home’s large, level parking area and winding, private drive.

This mountain lodge is located near the towns of Sevierville, Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, where hundreds of restaurants and bars, live shows, museums and adventures await — not to mention excellent shopping. Some notable attractions include the Tennessee Legend Distillery, Zipline & Aerial Adventure Parks, Dollywood Pigeon Forge, the Smoky Mountain Deer Farm & Exotic Petting Zoo, Hillside Winery, the Titanic Museum, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and of course, Dollywood.

The surrounding countryside is rife with nature trails, scenic heights, rushing streams and waterfalls, and a deep network of underground caverns. Explore the region by land or water, on foot or on horseback, above ground or beneath it — then return to Journey’s End to rest up for another round of adventure.

Reviews

We will DEFINITELY be back! We ran into a couple little hitches on our arrival, but nothing that impacted the overall stay. The renters before us checked out late and left the place a mess, but the cleaning crew were working feverishly to get us in there. The actual check-in was a couple hours late but it was well worth the wait and we were allowed to check-out a couple hours late to make up for it since there were no renters coming in on the day we left. I think it was an unavoidable incident, but the 2-hour delay in check-in was a little much for my mother. She is 83 and she was definitely needing a place to lay down and rest after her long trip to Gatlinburg. Other than literally, physically throwing out the previous renters, I don't know what else you could've done on your end, though. There was a delay in a response for a couple days about getting our check-out time pushed back, but other than that, all was well. We had a rental inspector come to make sure everything was in working order. The inspector found a problem with the hot tub even before we did and made sure someone came out right away and fixed it. They noted some damage from the previous renters for which we would not be held accountable. The rest of our stay was incredible. The views were unmatched and we plenty of time in the living room just looking out of that enormous window. The covered front porch with the fire pit and chairs were where we spent most of our evenings, playing games on the lawn and catching up with each other (it was a family reunion of sorts with most of us living far away from each other). The game room provided many hours of fun for all of us. And the convenience of having it so close to gas stations and grocery stores was great. The younger adults explored the surrounding attractions quite a bit, but some of the older generation were perfectly happy to stay at the cabin the entire time. It was quite a memorable vacation for all of us. We will DEFINITELY be back! Allison Fisher, May 2018
Absolutely fantastic! Was my first time staying in Tennessee and I couldn't have picked a better cabin. I was up each morning before the sunrise just to see it come up. Breathtaking, IMO. I can't say enough good things about this cabin. Loved it all! Had my family down for a 60th birthday celebration, and they all were so pleased with the stay. We loved it so much that we're going back next year! When you've had enough of the fresh air, or a rainy afternoon, there's the awesome home theater room. Fantastic! You won't be disappointed in the views from the balcony either. Coyotes, bobcat and bear too! Minor issues taken care of and followed up on by the rental staff very quickly. Service was excellent. Bottom line, worth the trip!!! We understand why it was, but maybe allow the fireplaces to be used year-round. We wish we could have been able to have the living room fireplace on a few times.
