Gone Fishing is a cottage style Tennessee vacation rental on a private lot right on the lake. This three-bedroom cottage features a bright, compact kitchen fully equipped with dinnerware, cookware and modern appliances. An open floorplan leads from the front door, through the kitchen to a formal dining area with a long table set for six. To the side of the dining room, a cozy living room is furnished with two sofas and two armchairs, gathered around a real, wood-burning fireplace and a floor-to-ceiling shelf stocked with books, movies and games.
To the back of the house, a large sundeck overlooks the lawn and a quiet cove with a long-range view of Douglas Lake. The deck offers outdoor lounge furniture and dining space, as well as a relaxing hot tub. This cabin includes the use of the level, grassy lawn, a large paved parking area for boats, trailers and additional vehicles, and free access to the Gator Point boat launch. The private yard slopes gently down to the lake, where a small dock and grassy shoreline offer plenty of space for fishing or swimming.
Sleeping arrangements: Gone Fishing provides guests with three private bedrooms. Two bedrooms are furnished with a queen-sized bed each, while the third offers two twin-sized beds.
This low-key Tennessee vacation home is a stress-free destination, with low local traffic, calm water, easy access to entertainments and all the necessary conveniences of home. This home is welcoming and pet-friendly, with a large yard for dogs to run and a permanent kennel at the back of the house that is fully-enclosed and partially sheltered from the elements. Gone Fishing is ideally equipped for a home-away-from-home “staycation,” providing guests with everything they might need to simply disappear for a week and enjoy the lakeshore.
Gone Fishing is conveniently located just a half-hour’s drive from Sevierville and Pigeon Forge, TN. Sevierville is fascinating local municipality with unique attractions such as the Forbidden Caverns, the Tennessee Aviation Museum, The NASCAR Speed Park, the Smoky Mountain Deer Farm and Eagle’s Landing Golf Club.
In Pigeon Forge, visitors will find even more exciting family entertainments, including the Elvis Museum, Carbo’s Smoky Mountain Police Museum, The Incredible Christmas Place, the Dixie Stampede Dinner & Show, a working jewelry mine experience, the famous Old Mill & Restaurant, and the Smoky Mountain Car Museum, where such international automotive treasures are kept as James Bond’s 007 car, Elvis’ Mercedes and Al Capone’s bulletproof Cadillac.
Not far off, guests to Gone Fishing Tennessee lake house will also find the renowned tourist attractions at Gatlinburg, including the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort & Amusement Park, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, the Space Needle, the Guinness World of Records Museum, Pigeon River White Water Adventures, an IMAX theater and free tasting and tours and the Smoky Mountain Winery. For those who would prefer to explore away from the bustling crowds of town, it’s only a short drive to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home! The deck overlooking the lake was our daily meeting place for coffee in the morning and cocktails at night! The view is beautiful and perfect for the ever-changing sunsets. We had 6 adults and the home fit us perfectly — it was very comfortable, clean and secluded. We were a very reasonable drive to the Smokies, Gatlinburg and Pigeon river where we white water rafted and zip-lined! Our oldest son proposed to his girlfriend down by the water’s edge and that just made our trip that much more special! Would recommend this home to anyone! Jocelyn Hankins

Wow, we were so impressed with the GONE FISH'N house. It was beautiful, well maintained, nice and clean and the dog run was great, not that our dogs used it much.
