What-A-View is a beautifully furnished two-bedroom Tennessee cabin in Gatlinburg’s Chalet Village resort community. This unique mountain home has three stories connected by a central spiral stair. This rental features high ceilings, exposed beams and large windows for an upscale atmosphere in a cozy space.
The main level at What-A-View includes a newly refinished kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a breakfast bar with four stools. A sliding glass door leads from the kitchen to a wraparound balcony with a great view over the wooded bluffs. The living area has a sofa and loveseat gathered near the natural stone hearth with a large flat-screen mounted above. There is also a full-size pool table.
The top level of this cabin in the smokies serves as a loft with a reading chair and great natural light. The lowest level is equipped with a washer and dryer. Outside, guests can enjoy the balcony views from a set of chairs and a small table. The ground level is equipped with a fire pit, a grill and a hot tub.
What-A-View’s two private bedrooms open off the living area on the main level. Both rooms have a king-sized bed and a private bath.
The central feature at What-A-View is a unique wrought iron spiral staircase that connects all three levels of this mountain getaway. This creates a trapdoor-like feel reminiscent of a fantasy treehouse. The view from the deck is also a special feature at What-A-View, stretching over the treetops all the way to Mt. LeConte in the distance. Look straight up, and you can see the Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway swooping by on its way to Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area. Each of the bathrooms at this Gatlinburg cabin has a unique vanity fashioned from an upcycled chest of drawers.
What-A-View’s two king-size master suites make it the perfect getaway for couples looking to explore the many attractions of downtown Gatlinburg and the surrounding countryside. This region is a hotspot of scenic natural vistas with famous lookout points and great hiking trails. This cabin is conveniently located to Great Smoky Mountains National Park with its varied wilderness landscapes encompassing lakes and rivers, forest and field.
Some local businesses that make the most of the topography include a number of successful wineries and distilleries — sign up for a tour and tasting, or explore the grounds on horseback. What-A-View is also just minutes away from Ober Gatlinburg, where you can spend the day skiing, engage in a wildlife encounter, take an aerial tour or ride the Mountain Coaster.
Enjoy a night in by the fireplace, or head into downtown Gatlinburg to experience the unique nightlife. Gatlinburg is home to world-renowned barbecue joints, unique artists shops and studios, live music, fine dining and a collection of one-of-a-kind museums. Don’t forget to take a selfie from the top of the Space Needle! You can also spend a day in the neighboring town of Pigeon Forge to take advantage of shopping, Dollywood and Dollywood’s Splash Country.
