Our Cotton Gin Cabin is a cozy one-room retreat inspired by the historic gin still standing on the farm. Inside, you’ll find both a queen bed and a rustic set of twin bunk beds, all within the open living space. The cabin comfortably sleeps up to four guests.
A full kitchen and bathroom are tucked off the main room, and I deliver homemade cinnamon rolls and coffee each morning. Warm up by the wood‑burning fireplace in the evenings, or wander outside to enjoy the wrap‑around porch and outdoor fire pit. The clawfoot tub is perfect for a soak after a day of exploring.
If you’re traveling with a larger group, the nearby Holly House can be added to increase your sleeping capacity. The Cotton Gin Cabin remains one of our guest favorites because of its simplicity, central heat and air, and easy access to the farm’s pond, historic buildings and open fields.
The highlight of this cabin is the built‑in twin bunk bed set crafted from rough‑hewn timbers, a nod to the gin’s original use. The queen bed offers extra comfort, and the open layout lets families stay connected.
Guests also appreciate the cabin’s wrap‑around porch overlooking the farmstead and the convenience of having a full kitchen and bath in a one‑room design. Firewood is provided for both the indoor fireplace and outdoor fire pit, and complimentary tours of our historic cotton gin and other pioneer structures are included.
Spend your mornings fishing or watching turtles surface in our catch‑and‑release pond, then hike the mown trails that wind through open pasture and woods. Children will love climbing trees and meeting the farm animals.
Take a short drive to the Tennessee Safari Park for an up‑close look at exotic animals, or explore the Civil War history and shopping in nearby towns like Bells and Alamo. We’re also near Century Farm Winery, which offers tastings and picnic spots.
In the evenings, gather around the outdoor fire pit under a star‑filled sky, or join me for a tour of the original cotton gin, schoolhouse, and other buildings on the farm. Longer day trips to Jackson, Memphis, or the Mississippi River are easy from our central location.
Guests staying in the Cotton Gin Cabin are also welcome to roam the entire property, pick seasonal berries, and attend any special events or live music we host.

We loved staying in the Cotton Gin Cabin. The cozy queen bed and twin bunk bed were perfect for our family of four. The kids fished at the catch‑and‑release pond and explored the old cotton gin, and we enjoyed quiet mornings on the porch swing and evenings by the campfire. John and Krista made us feel at home, and we can’t wait to visit again! - The Smith Family.
Our weekend in the Cotton Gin was relaxing and charming. We appreciated the homemade cinnamon rolls delivered each morning and the chance to learn about the farm’s history on a guided tour. The cabin was clean and comfortable with everything we needed, and we highly recommend a stay here. - J. Henderson.
