Welcome to our Cabin in the Pines at Green Frog Farm. As the sun peeks over the blueberry field, you'll wake in a queen bed downstairs while the kids snooze in the open loft with a full-size bed and twin. Our restored 19th‑century cabin has exposed logs, a wood‑burning fireplace and a wraparound porch that invites you to sip morning coffee while watching wildlife by the pond.
I love to cook, so the full kitchen with dining area is stocked with everything you need. After a day exploring the grounds, unwind in the clawfoot tub before curling up around the fire. Central heat and air keep the cabin comfortable year round, and the wraparound porch offers shade in summer and shelter when it rains.
This cabin sleeps up to five and has a single downstairs bathroom. If you’re traveling with friends, the Moonshine Cabin is just a short walk away. Home‑baked cinnamon rolls and hot coffee greet you in the morning so you can linger on the porch swing and soak in the peaceful farm setting.
What sets our Pines Cabin apart is its history — the hand‑hewn logs were originally cut in the 1800s and carefully reassembled here on our family farm. The open loft layout keeps everyone together, and the wraparound porch provides 360‑degree views of our blueberry fields, pond and barns. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time, but with modern conveniences like a full kitchen and clawfoot tub.
Guests also love that the cabin sits near our catch‑and‑release pond. We provide firewood for the indoor fireplace and the outdoor fire pit, and you’re welcome to roam our historic buildings, including a cotton gin and schoolhouse. Complimentary tours are included with your stay.
As my guest you have full access to Green Frog Farm’s 30‑plus acres. Spend your mornings fishing in the pond or picking blueberries and blackberries when they’re in season. Wander our restored general store, cotton museum, chapel and blacksmith shop to learn about West Tennessee’s pioneer past.
Just down the road you’ll find the Tennessee Safari Park, a 7‑mile drive‑through safari and walk‑through zoo that’s less than 3 miles away. It’s one of our most popular attractions – perfect for families. Head over to Century Farm Winery near Jackson for a tasting, or explore the shops and restaurants in historic downtown Bells and nearby Alamo.
Outdoor lovers will appreciate the many parks and wildlife areas in Crockett County. Take a day trip to Memphis or Jackson for museums and music, then return to the peaceful countryside. We’re always happy to suggest hikes, farm tours and local eateries like Bob’s Burgers in Bells or the Olympic Steak House in Alamo.
On site, evenings are for porch sitting and stargazing. Roast marshmallows at the fire pit, swap stories on the porch swing and watch fireflies dance over the pond. It’s the simple pleasures that keep our guests coming back.

We had a wonderful time at Green Frog. The cabin The Pines was really lovely – nice enough to be comfortable but rustic enough to feel like an adventure. The kids fished, climbed trees and loved exploring the old buildings. We will be back! – The Smith family
This was one of the best weekend trips we've taken in a while. We stayed in A Cabin in the Pines and are already talking about when we can come back. The fishing was great and the wood burning fireplace turned a cold weekend into a cozy experience. – Emily R.

I’m John Freeman, a retired physician turned preservationist. After serving as a missionary doctor in Thailand for a decade, I returned home to Crockett County and began rescuing log cabins and other historic buildings. Today my daughter Krista and I manage Green Frog Farm. We’re passionate about sharing West Tennessee’s rural heritage and love welcoming guests to our little village. When you stay with us you’re not just renting a cabin — you’re stepping into our family’s labor of love.
