The Cowboys will make your children’s stay memorable with its covered wagon bed (on wheels!) and rustic western style decor. Adults will feel a little nature surround them with their own full twig canopy bed. iEnjoy the sound of Cove Creek across the street while resting in the rockers on the front porch. The Mears Creek/waterfall out the back door also awaits your exploration or picnic in an adjoining secluded area.
This fully renovated unit features a new fully-equipped kitchen with its dishwasher, wash/dryer, microwave, coffee maker, tableware, dishes and pots and pans. The bathroom has a full bath with shower. Create a Cowboy family night with on the the bunk house’s own western DVD on the TV/VCR, or read a Louie Lamour western novel.

Be sure and see the rhododendrons in bloom in June at the mountain’s crest - the Roan Mountain Garden. Thousands of pink to lavender blossoms will delight the eye on the handicapped-accessible garden’s trail overlook platform. Hike, fish play tennis or swim in the Roan Mountain State Park. Try educational programs by rangers and naturalists or tour a historical farmhouse.
Tube or ski at the Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain ski resorts in Western North Carolina about 20 miles away.
An hour away is family entertainment at the Appalachiah Wild West Theme Park - Tweetsie Railroad - in Blowing Rock, NC. Ride aboard a coal-fired steam engine train on the 3-mile long railroad line through the North Carolina mountains, try the amusement park rides, take the chair lift to Miner’s Mountain and try gold panning and gem mining, or visit the Deer Park zoo.

Cancellations are subject to a 35.00 fee. Cancellations 14 days or less prior to check-in date will be charged for all reserved days if the cabin is not re-rented.

Pets: Dogs are allowed with a 2 pet/per/cabin maximum. You must receive written permission from Roan Mountain Rentals before arriving with pets. No pets under 1 year old; no pets allowed on beds or on furnishing; you cannot leave pets in the cabin unattended unless they are in a portable kennel (available for rent); and you must walk pets on a leash while on the property. Fees: $50/2 nights; $75/3-5 nights; $100/week.
