Rise and shine to a beautiful view of the Heaton Creek Valley. Our three bedroom/two bath home located in the highlands of the Roans is a quiet gathering spot for family and friends. Enjoy the spacious feel of the great room with its adjoining dining area and fully-equipped kitchen with its microwave, ice maker, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, glasses. There is also washer and dryer in the hall laundry with laundry detergent. The large oval dining room table can seat up to 12. Cathedral ceilings, a floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace and hardwood floors on the main floor create an inviting space for evening fun. We also have a Ducane gas grill on the back porch.
Comfortable covered porches stretch the entire length of the house to observe the majestic valley and mountain views at 4200 feet elevation. Or venture out and enjoy the many seasonal recreation options such as hiking, swimming, fishing, tennis, mountain biking, or skiing. Your 2 neighbors? The Pisgah National Forest of NC and the Cherokee National Forest of TN.
Sleeping arrangements: King 4-poster bed in master bedroom; queen bed in second bedroom; 2 sets of bunk beds and queen sleeper sofa in loft.
The hot tub is located on a private covered lower back porch. Three TV’s. Stone fireplace with ample firewood. Flatware and dishes to serve 12 in the combined great room, kitchen and dining areas. Take a night or two off and try some local flavors! Roan Mountain restaurants and shopping are quite unique.

A must for all guests! Stand on the top of ROAN MOUNTAIN at the Rhododendron Gardens, in Roan Mountain, Tennessee. The vista is one of the most memorable in the country. 2,000+ acre Roan Mountain State Park has hiking trails for all skill levels. Park guests have access to the swimming pool, tennis courts, and 2.25 miles of mountain bike trails. Fish for trout and take in the rich hardwood forest.
There is so much to do in the Watauga Lake Recreation Area: Cool, clear water - one of the most beautiful lakes in the entire TVA system is teaming with trout, walleye, and smallmouth and largemouth bass.
Winter fun! Find the ski slopes of Sugar and Beech mountains in North Carolina only 20 miles away.
